As Leaders managing global business and challenges, it is important to manage the following to be successful and competent.

1. Identifying and understanding the differences in race, culture and background are advantages, not deficits for effective relationship management in teams

2. There are no rights or wrongs, but there are differences – this is how we need to look at global diversity/culture

3. It’s good to realise that others’ thinking may enhance your own ideas

4. Remember to suspend judgement while you concentrate on understanding an idea

5. Build on complementary skills, background, language and cultural knowledge, thus diversifying your workforce

6. Having a wide variety of people in professional and personal spaces, and knowing them, helps your overall being

7. Learn about diverse backgrounds and cultures by way of books and attending local cultural events

8. Involve diverse groups in solving problems and developing opportunities

9. Show respect for people from other cultures

10. When you travel, journal your observations of the country/culture you’re in, and understand similarities, differences and what surprises you.

Overall work attitude and relationships may improve, as will success in achieving performance goals handling the global business
