LEADERS and DRIVERS

Although we use these terms synonymously all the time, there is a clear distinction between the two.

Leaders inspire with their big levels of Leadership attributes like authenticity, decisiveness,
empathy, selflessness, accountability. Any individuals whom we consider as leaders in our lives,
for example, our parents, highly respected family member, our mentors, organisation leaders, will
certainly have most of these attributes. Leaders have fans and earns trust of the people around
them.

Drivers on the other hand are pushy and might get results, may be for a long time, but like a
mechanical part will begin to grind after a point in time. Heavy control and overt manipulation with
people will not stay for long. We don’t find many people following Drivers, but instead they are
pushed.

Leadership is an attitude which we need to keep developing and it is the other people who
decide if we are a true Leader or a Driver.

Are you on the steering wheel as a Pushy Driver or a Leader Driver?
