We all experience passages in our lifetime, when one course of our life ends and another begins. Some of the predictable markers are graduation, career success, marriage, parenthood, moving after a big sabbatical, a lucky break or a big idea, career failure, including retirement and post retirement breaks/work. These moments can be exhilarating or confusing to the point of paralysis (what do I do next?). Remember, our transitions are not voids that we aimlessly roam until we find an escape route. We await passively for our next phase – ‘our replacement reality’. You are in transition automatically when some part of your life ends.
We need to earn that next beginning . You cannot know if you have begun to earn your next beginning until you are in transition. You cannot appreciate your transition until you have a method for marking off your turning points.
Transitions or Passages we can call it, are living organisms, as alive as other fully engaging parts of our lives.
Have you experienced Transitions in your life and how did you cope it to make it bigger and better?
