Collaboration and Synergy in the Workspace

 

An increasingly large number of organisations have trouble with the nature of their work environment. Mindless collectivism impairs the efficiency of the organisational workspace, when a team is treated as a single unit that does not account for the individual voices at play within it.

2. What ought to be done when one individual is taking a larger workload, owing to the lethargy or inefficiency of the team?

A conceptual division of labour facilitates strong individual engagement that allows for adequate autonomy for one to exercise their analytical skills, while at the same time ensuring that the project at work remains tethered firmly to a central goal. The power of the individual must be harnessed to charge the team. Thus, one ought to discard the use of coercion, and practice persuasion as a technique to communicate ideas effectively. Effective communication between individuals is the currency of a team.

3. How can a good work environment be achieved?

The ideal place of work would be one that allows individuals to bask in the glory of stimulating conversations with colleagues, through candour, and also a space that allows these individuals to recede to their privacy and mull over the best solutions for challenges consuming their day. The former initiates one with a rush of excitement and motivation, charging one up with healthy spirit, while the latter helps one conceive of ideas and solutions that drive the company forward.
